Stars filled the room as I sat in awe after opening the lid to the box I saw It belonged to my mom when she was here, it sat all alone in the room upstairs When I was a child, I could listen for hours to the stories she told of when she was a child. She told of a box filled with magic and dreams and she said one day I would know what it means The years flew by and the stories forgotten as I grew to a woman and left fantasies behind. Momma left one night as she slept in her bed, without mentioning the box, where her dreams she left. I stood alone in the room upstairs fascinated by the box that she'd left for me there. Inside lay pictures, momentos and jewels along with a note, with my name in gold. It was filled with love and memories Of a child and a loving family And I realized with tears in my eyes That the magic she left, was in my own mind Poetry By Sand |
