If you happen to catch a leprechaun
Out of the corner of your eye
He won't give you his pot o' gold
And here's the reason why...

You have to capture him and hold him tight
Just seeing him isn't the trick
They are elusive and hide from view
They really are quite quick.

They hide in little nook and crannies
Under furniture and some rugs
Just act like you don't care or see
They just may give you a hug.

I've never known them to do just that
But you know, there's always a first time
So talk about them nice and sweet
And always treat them kind.

That's when they'll let their defenses down
Just do as you are told
It's then you just might capture one
And wind up with his pot o' gold.
