How heavy was the cross
that Jesus had to pack
and carry to the hill
of Golgotha on His back?

How long was the walk
that Jesus took alone?
How many steps that day,
Before God took Him home?

How sharp were the nails
for Jesus to withstand
They drove into His flesh
When He chose to die for man?

How long did they beat,
and bruise God's only Son?
How large were the stones
That He took for everyone?

How red was the blood
He shed for all to see?
How much did it weigh,
that burden for you and me?

How high was the price
That Jesus paid for sin?

How heavy was the cross?

There is no better Friend!
