A group of children all boys and 1 girl were leaving the house they just visited on their way to the next house, but before they could arrive they had to pass DGraveyard full of Tombstones of many shapes and sizes. The GraveYard was dark and looked eerie with all the tombstones in a grayish white against the backdrop of the black sky with a few ominous looking clouds that would open up to let the Full Orange Moon light up the Tombstones. The children stopped at the Gates and waited to see if the myths they have heard are true. That you can see ghosts floating around on halloween night. They stood their for 10 minutes and when nothing happened they decided to enter. As the boys opened the Gate to enter, the girl (Tinkerbell) hung back, saying, "No, no we mustn't disturb them." The boys laughed at her and replied," There is nothing here that can hurt us TinkerBell, all those stories are just a myth to keep us out, we only want to see the writings on the Tombstones. Just stay close to us." TinkerBell followed the boys through the gates, keeping close to them. As they went up to a Tombstone they saw the letters R.I.P. engraved before the persons name. They did not know what that meant, and went to other Tombstones, and saw they too had the same letters above the names. "RIP spells rip, why would all these have rip on them, are they going to be ripped open?" The boys asked no one in particular. TinkerBell replied, "I think it means Remember In Prayer." or Rest In Peace." "That's it, the boys all chimed in unison, "Rest In Peace". "Okay then lets go, and let them Rest In Peace," said TinkerBell, "this place is spooky to me." then she started backing up as she watched to see if the boys were going to follow her, and she backed into another tombstone. When she did, skeleton arms came out and wrapped around her, and a scream was stuck in her throat, she was paralyzed with fright. The boys started to go to her, but before they could move the other graves opened up and ghostly apparitions appeared, along with more skeletons, and bugs coming up from the center of each grave and surround the boys feet. Then the trees they hadn't noticed before grew long branches with smaller branches that looked like crooked and bent fingers reaching out to them, then the clouds covered the moon, and they were all in total darkness and the only things they could see were the ghosts and skeletons. The children were so frightened chills were running up and down their spines. They could not move, for if they did, they would crush a bug, and they knew if they did, the others would start crawling all over them. A loud clap of thunder split the silence of the skies, then followed bolts of lightning so close they thought it would hit one of them, but instead it hit the ground and started a little fire. The boys, cold and shaking with fear looked at the bugs around them and moved carefully towards the fire, then they saw that TinkerBell had a fire near her, but she was also frightened and begging the skeleton to let her go. That they are sorry that they disturbed them, they were not aware of what the letters RIP meant. The ghosts and skeletons, spoke to the them, "You must go and write down each name and date on each TombStone, and keep it always in your memories, for if you forget even one, we will Haunt you for the rest of your life, you will never ever be able to Rest In Peace. Then when others dare to enter, you must tell them that there is nothing scary here, for we do not want to be disturbed." The boys and TinkerBell went about their task and as they did, the clouds moved away from the Moon, so they may have light, and as they started to write down the names and dates, the skeleton that had ahold of TinkerBell handed her a slip of paper. On the paper had all the names and dates, and told them, hurry you must hurry, for another group of children are coming, and the Skeleton and bugs, ghosts, all went back to their graves, and everything looked like it did, when they first entered. They quickly left, with the paper tucked safely away and stood outside the gates looking back at the GraveYard and the Tombstones, lucky to be free. As they were getting ready to leave, the next group of children came up to them and asked them if the Graveyard was scary. TinkerBell and the Boys replied, |
