When I was just a little kid And went from door to door We didn't say, "Trick or Treat" We yelled, "Help the Poor!" I think it should have been "Trick or TRICK," because I left forlorn They didn't treat us, but gave US a trick It was called, "YUCKY CANDY CORN!!" Every year, weeks went by And this is what I found ... By the time we were eating Christmas goodies Yep, the candy corn was STILL around All the chocolate was eaten up fast Suckers, and bubble gum But, why in the heck pass out candy corn THAT, to me, was dumb I know what parents did whenever kids got that stuff They'd pass it out the following year Heaven only knows they had enough WHO, ever thought up "CANDY CORN" It's enough to make ya gag I just know it was recycled year after year I recognized it in MY kid's BAG!! There Ain't Nuttin In-Creddy-Able about CANDY CORN!!
